Cyberbullying - What is it really?
Social media apps are used by an ever-increasing number of people. Their usefulness is undeniable, but there are lots of dangers in the deep sea of social media applications that are just as undeniable. Let’s take a look at the most popular social media: Instagram.
As you may recall, Instagram’s main purpose is allowing users to post photos and video call friends. However, this platform is also sometimes used to bully (or, more correctly, cyberbully) users. They insult those who they believe are “fat” but they are as skinny as they can be, or those who they consider to be “ugly” or “dumb”. Victims of this social phenomenon are largely young girls, but insults to men are also pretty common.
SAFE INTERNET DAY
On 8th February 2022, there will be yet another edition of “Safer internet Day”. During this day, people try to be educated on the internet and try to stop those who still cyberbully victims of any kind. The internet is too useful as a tool to be left behind- that is why we must make it a better place together.
