"The Spirit of the Eastern Shore"
The Marching Toro Band is the largest ensemble in the band program. With a focus on tradition and dedication, whenever there’s a performance approaching this band works extra hard to exceed their own high expectations while staying true to what others come to expect from the band. This ensemble is made up of students consisting of winds, percussion, and colorguard. It is the most visible component of the band program. The Marching Toro Band performs at all varsity football games, pep rallies, parades, as well as, at least 2 marching band contests in the fall. The marching band has consistently received superior ratings and also captured many Best In Class awards.
The Spanish Fort Symphonic Band is the premier instrumental ensemble at Spanish Fort High School. It consists of about 30-35 students and membership in the band is determined by individual audition. Students also must participate in marching band to be considered. Private instruction is strongly encouraged. This ensemble has continued to strive for excellence by performing literature on the medium advanced list of the wind band repertoire. Students in this band pursue roles in the Alabama All-State Bands, Alabama District VII Honor Band, Baldwin County Honor Band, and collegiate honor bands. Under the direction of Mrs. Michelle Daughenbaugh, the SFHS Symphonic Band has continued tradition in excellence with receiving superior ratings at the annual Alabama Music Performance Assessment.
With growing numbers over the years, the Concert Band was created in 2025 as the second wind ensemble for the instrumental music program at Spanish Fort High School. Consisting of students in 9-12 grades, the ensemble performs popular high school literature from the wind band repertoire and is under the direction of Mr. Jonathan Faust.
Private instruction is strongly encouraged. This ensemble competes at the annual Alabama Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment.
Our Jazz Band is a student volunteer group that rehearses after school during the spring semester. This ensemble hosts a spring concert at the Eastern Shore Centre and provides entertainment at the Five Rivers Delta Expo sponsored by The City of Spanish Fort.
