ABOUT

Spanish Fort High School is located in Spanish Fort, Alabama and is part of the Baldwin County Public School System. The Spanish Fort High School Band Program has a long tradition of excellence and rich history. The "Marching Toro Band" is the most visual ensemble of the Fine Arts Department at SFHS. The "Marching Toro Band" performs at all varsity football games as well as at least 2 marching band competitions in the fall. The band has consistently received superior ratings and captured many Best In Class awards at these contests. The band has previously participated in other musical events such as Bands of America, Universal Studios Foley Experience, and Chicago's Thanksgiving Parade.

Other instrumental performance opportunities for students at SFHS include Symphonic Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band. Additional performing arts that operate under the band umbrella include Colorguard and Winterguard. Individuals in the band compete in local, regional, and state band auditions. All concert ensembles participate in the annual Alabama Music Performance Assessment, and the Symphonic Band has consistently earned superior ratings at this event. Private instruction is strongly supported and encouraged. These lessons are a major focus of individual development for the students in the Spanish Fort High School Band. The ultimate vision for the program is to provide as many educational opportunities through musical skill and artistic excellence. Every decision made from the band office is in service to this skill development philosophy.
