We will be doing a Shakespeare intensive during the 2025-26 school year. The adaptation we will be using is by Jessica Jackson.
AUDITIONING
All roles are open for our mainstage productions of Our Town, Six, and Spongebob the Musical. Our current cast of The Last Mile will continue their journey into our competition season for the 2025-26 school year. Any student that is graduating in May 2025 or a student that no longer wishes to participate in this one act production will create a vacancy in that role. Auditions for those roles and any addtional roles to the show will be held during the last week of August, 2025.
AUDITIONS:
Auditions for Our Town, Six, and Spongebob the Musical will be announced prior to the start of the 2025-26 school term. At that time, students will be able to download an audition packet to properly prepare for each audition.
What is an audition?
An audition is an opportunity for the director to see who is interested in being in the production. Students will prepare material for auditions and present it to the director. The director chooses who fits the part the best based on the student's audition. Auditions are not a talent contest.
Roles are cast based on who fits the part with a variety of factors including but not limited to: skill, ability, stage presence, look, etc.
I've never been in a play before. Do I have a chance?
Absolutely. My advice is to properly prepare for the audition by following all the directions in the audition packet for the production. Keep in mind - you may see yourself in a role, but the director may not. That's okay. Give it your best effort and accept any role that is given to you. In educational theatre, our goal in theatre production is to learn through experiences. It is an opportunity to apply the skills and techniques you've learned in class, whether you are on stage for one minute or the entire show!
