This type of injury is common when a snowboarder braces themselves when they fall down. It is common to sprain your wrist ligaments or fracture the distal radius in the radiocarpal joint (1).
Not as common as wrist or knee injures, but can still be really painful. Dislocating your glenohumeral joint can happen by landing wrong. Sprains are also possible if you land on your glenohumeral joint (1).
