Flute Maintenance Tips

Always keep your flute in its case when you are not playing the instrument.

NEVER put anything in your case besides your instrument and the cleaning rod. Placing pencils, erasers, and other things could seriously damage the instrument when you close the lid.

Make sure that you use your cleaning rod with a cloth to clean out your instrument after every use.

NEVER us a pad saver with your instrument

Have your instrument checked by your teacher at least once a month

Do not attempt to oil or try and fix your instrument. Please let Mr. Kemerer look at it or a profession instrumental repair technician.

If your joints are hard to put together please bring it to Mr. Kemerer. DO NOT put oil or grease on the joints to make them easier to put together

When assembling, use your whole hand around the instrument as you gently put it together using small twist. SMALL twists.
