IAC is a private club lodge for members and their guests. A condition of our lease with NPWS is that we do not accept commercial bookings.
We trust you will enjoy your stay and return for many more memorable holidays into the future.
There are some things you'll need to know to ensure your enjoyment and safety during your visit. Please familiarise yourself with them as they are all important for the smooth running of the lodge.
Summer is here, and the lodge will be open for use from 8 October, before NSW residents are allowed to travel between LGAs.
Bear in mind that you and your group may not be the only people that are using the lodge during summer. As there may be multiple groups at any one time, the following provisions will apply:
In line with expected NSW Health and Government Health Orders, all guests must be fully vaccinated (two doses) for bookings prior to 1 December. You will be asked to confirm this when you make a booking, and if anyone is found to have been dishonest their membership will be reviewed.
Please do not attend the lodge with any cold or flu like symptoms.
Hand sanitiser and surface disinfectant wipes will be available throughout the lodge. Masks can be found on the bench closest to the kitchen.
Ice and snow frequently sliding off the roof can come from significant height without warning and can be very heavy. Please supervise children's snow-play around the lodge at all times. Perisher resort management cautions all visitors of the risk of injury from snow and ice fall, in particular to unsupervised children at play.
Fire is an ever present danger. Please do not use any electrical items that have damaged cords, light candles and be aware of anything that may cause a fire.
No smoking is permitted in any area of the lodge including balconies, verandahs, emergency exits and the entry alcove. Smoking is permitted a minimum of 5m from any entrance or exit under the Smoke free Environment Act 2000.
Specific dietary requirements for members should be added to your profile page on the website. For guests, advise requirements when making a booking.
If you hear the fire alarm, don't panic but respond quickly by gathering footwear, a blanket or doona before heading for the nearest fire exit.
The assembly point is on Corroboree Road, located just above the rear of the lodge.
There is an emergency contact card at each of the four exits, attached with velcro for easy removal. It contains the phone numbers for emergency services, fire brigade and the committee member who can access the bunk list. The Hut Captain will exit with the contact card.
The fire alarm is a back-to-base monitored system and Perisher Fire Station will arrive.
Please make yourself known to the Management Team and the Hut Captain.
Access is available from 2.00 pm. First meal provided on arrival day is dinner. If room is not vacant, place bags in ski-room. Do not leave bags on seats or in hallways.
The bunk list is located on the screen in the boot room.
The Hut Captain's role is to assist with queries during your stay, ensure the roster duties run smoothly and to provide feedback to the Committee.
Check the Duty Roster in the dining room for your duties that week. You may swap a duty with agreement from another person. If in doubt, see the Hut Captain (who is responsible for the smooth running of the roster).
Your room has been vacuumed and tidied with fresh linen and a towel placed on each bunk.
A strict condition is that only booked in members and guests stay in the lodge / bunkrooms. Violation of this invalidates our lease with NPWS and disadvantages all members.
Blankets, pillows and doonas are provided. If sheets, doona covers, and pillowcases are not on your bed, they can be found in the ski room storage cage.
Towels are provided on the basis of one towel per person per 7 nights. You can supply your own towels if you prefer.
Please keep all common areas of the lodge clean and tidy for the enjoyment of all. Clean as you go. The lounge room in particular must be kept clean and tidy with scatter cushions replaced on the lounges and magazines/books/games returned to shelving.
Parents are responsible for their children playing anywhere in the Lodge. Please bring suitable games for your children in case of bad weather.
The lodge managers may ask for assistance in snow clearing.
Please keep your mobile phones on 'silent' in all common areas. If taking a call, please leave the common lounge / dining area.
Consider others who are asleep. Keep music played in the Lounge Room very low after 11pm and switch off speakers in the dining room. Do not play music after midnight unless all agree.
We ask you to respect all facilities provided and report anything out of order to the Hut Captain.
Our central heating is adjustable via a control knob at the side of the wall-mounted unit in your room —turn anti-clockwise (down) to lower heat output and turn clockwise (upwards) to increase heat. Please note that central heating does not operate between the hours of 8am and 3pm. In particularly cold conditions the Managers can adjust these heating times.
Children under 2 years old (4 years old for non-members) are not permitted during winter except in designated Toddlers Weeks. Older children who are still using 'night nappies' should use disposables. These must be taken each morning to large blue rubbish bins near the bus depot. Parents are also requested to provide a plastic undercover directly below the sheet to protect the mattress in all cases where bed-wetting may occur.
Drying rooms may be used for outer layer clothing only - jackets, ski/board pants and outdoor shoes. All other clothing and towels are to be hung on rails in bunk rooms. Do not hang anything over heaters.
The NPWS has forbidden the use of the loft for overnight accommodation except in an emergency. The loft storage area is for the use of LODGE MEMBERS ONLY. Members are required to remove all belongings at the end of their final stay for the year. People must be of high school age to use.
No savouries will be provided this year due to Covid-19 health issues.
Breakfast 7:30am, Lunch 12:30pm, Dinner is served at 6:30pm.
Your booking includes dinner of the day of your arrival, and lunch on your day of departure. No casual meals are available this year.
If you are 'Out for Lunch' during the day please write your name(s) on the whiteboard in the Dining Room next to the Loft door.
List of roster duties is located on the dining room wall near the buffet. You may swap a duty if you find another agreeable person. Otherwise see the Hut Captain.
Children 12 years and over will be placed on roster duties with parent(s), who should supervise. Parent(s) with younger children may be asked to do extra duties.
A drink machine is located in the ski and board storage room near the entry, cans are $1 each — please use only $1 coins. Managers can provide change.
If you make yourself tea, instant coffee, or drinks, wash and put away your cups and dishes. Children are not to make their own drinks. All items used must be disinfected with anti-viral wipes after use.
Waxing skis is only permitted in the Ski-room area provided. Turn on the fan above the benches. The utmost caution must be exercised with flammable materials. Clean the benches and supports after use.
The laundry is for the use of the Lodge Managers. Residents may only use it in exceptional circumstances. Residents MUST check with Lodge Management before using it. Follow operating instructions and do not over load the machines. Remove all garments at end of the cycle, and clean the filter in the dryer after use.
In winter the top entrance is for Lodge managers ONLY. All other access will be through the lower entry. Fire exits off the Dining room and downstairs are ONLY TO BE USED FOR EMERGENCY EVACUATION
Casual guests will be allowed in the Lodge this year.
Vacancies at the Lodge may be filled (by members or guests) providing the following process has been adhered to:
The Booking Officer is contacted at the time and confirms the vacancy.
If the Booking Officer is not contactable, the Lodge Managers can confirm the booking but they must contact the Booking Officer at the earliest possible convenience.
The booking must be made on the online booking system.
The Lodge's landline telephone (02 6457 5240) is available for local phone calls or incoming calls only.
Mongolia Door is the same number as the main door, preceded by "C" for Clear. All equipment should have a tag with name and phone number attached. Only use the room for current equipment - it is not for items that are no longer in use.
Check out time is 10am. Please ensure your garbage bins are emptied and bedding taken to dining room before you leave.
If staying after checkout time place bags in ski-room. Do not leave on seats or in hallways. Check drying rooms and boot cupboard for any belongings.
Your feedback and comment is highly valued and can be provided to the weekly nominated volunteer Hut Captain, who is the representative of the IAC Committee. Alternately you can provide feedback here.
Thank you!
