What is coding?
Problem solving and modelling is one of two elements that make up the 'Computational Data and Thinking' Strand of the Digital Competence Framework. Problem solving and modelling is about using computational thinking to plan and get solutions to problems. One aspect of problem solving and modelling is programming, which are also called coding. This is the process of giving instructions to a computer using a specific language to be able to perform a task or solve a problem.
What is National Coding week?
National Coding Week is an annual event created to help adults and children develop their coding skills. National Coding Week started in 2014 and this year takes place between the 15/9/25 - 21/9/25. THIS WILL BE THE LAST YEAR THAT THE NATIONAL CODING WEEK WILL HE HELD. Here are a series of ideas and activities you can use to promote Coding Week at your school:
