General

Can I change an option?

It is possible within the first halt term of studying it, but by thinking through your choices properly this is rarely needed. After the first half term this is not possible due to the amount of catch-up work that would be required.

Where do I get more information on Separate Sciences?

This is on our options website, and has also been posted in Science Google classrooms.

Can I take a subject twice if it’s in 2 option blocks?

No, each block is designed to deliver that subject, so if they appear in 2, such a Geography, you can only take a subject once.

Can I do extra Maths or English?

Options X is where some students will be offered extra Maths/English, alongside those who are offered an extra option, and those that will follow a more vocational pathway.

Where are Spanish, Computer Science and Separate Sciences?

At this point these will be offered as additional subjects to identified students in Option X.

Career Specific

I am interested in Dentistry, and therefore I would like to know if Separate Sciences will help me in the future.

Yes – we’d highly recommend you opt for these if looking to pursue this career, though not choosing it does not block them off completely.
