Mae’r Gwasanaeth Dysgu a’r adain TG yn ymwybodol o’r effaith sylweddol y mae unrhyw amhariad ar gyswllt band-llydan yn ei chael ar allu ysgolion i weithredu'n effeithiol. Yn anffodus ers cychwyn y flwyddyn ysgol mae’r gwasanaeth hidlo cenedlaethol wedi methu'n llwyr ddwywaith, unwaith tuag at ddiwedd mis Medi ac eto rhai dyddiau'n ôl. Rydym wedi uchafu hyn i sylw rheolwyr y PSBA yn Llywodraeth Cymru sy'n gyfrifol am y gwasanaeth hidlo i:

1. Sicrhau bod gwersi'n cael eu dysgu.

2. Cadarnhau y bydd gwelliannau'n cael eu cyflwyno i wella’r gwasanaeth a lleihau’r posibilrwydd o ddigwyddiadau tebyg.

O ganlyniad i’r neges gref a anfonwyd yn rhannu ein siomedigaeth a'n rhwystredigaeth gyda’r ddarpariaeth bresennol, mae uwch swyddog wedi ymrwymo i newid prosesau er mwyn sicrhau na fydd yr hyn yr achosodd yr amhariad cyswllt yn digwydd eto. Yn ogystal, mae hyn wedi arwain at gytundeb gan BT i newid prosesau PSBA i sicrhau na fydd hyn yn effeithio unrhyw ysgol/sir arall yng Nghymru eto.

Serch difrifoldeb y digwyddiadau a'r effaith sylweddol ar ein hathrawon/dysgwyr a'r holl randdeiliaid, mae ymateb BT/PSBA yn galonogol. Mae cyfarfod wedi'i drefnu rhwng y Llywodraeth, y Gwasanaeth Dysgu a TGCh i dderbyn adborth pellach ar y datrysiad sydd wedi'i gyflwyno a byddwn yn eich diweddaru chi maes o law.

The Learning Service and IT Department are aware of the significant impact any disruption to broadband connection is having on schools' ability to operate effectively. Unfortunately, since the start of the school year, the national filtering service has failed completely twice, once towards the end of September and again a few days ago. We have raised the situation to the attention of the PSBA management at Welsh Government who are responsible for the filtering service to:

1. Ensure lessons are learned.

2. Confirm that improvements will be introduced to improve the service and reduce the possibility of similar incidents.

As a result of the strong message sent, sharing our disappointment and frustration with the current provision, a senior officer has committed to changing processes to ensure what caused the contact disruption does not happen again. This has also led to an agreement by BT to change PSBA processes to ensure that no other school/county in Wales is affected again.

Despite the severity of events and the significant impact on our teachers/learners and all stakeholders, BT/PSBA's response is encouraging. A meeting has been arranged between the Government and the Learning Service to receive further feedback on the solution that has been submitted and we will update you in due course.

Thank you for your co-operation and patience, we will continue to maintain close contact with the officers at BT/PSBA and Welsh Government to ensure that the response to any problem/incident involving Websafe is proportionate to the seriousness of the incident.

The Welsh Government is currently reviewing its guidance on school attendance and is keen to include the views of parents and carers in this work.
