Tablau Times Tables

Mae'n bwysig iawn bod ein disgyblion yn gwybod eu tablau - gorau po gyntaf, y gorau oll! Mae 2 brif rheswm pam rydyn ni angen rhoi ffocws mawr ar ddysgu tablau

It is really important that pupils know their Times Tables - and the sooner, the better! There are 2 main reasons why we need to place a focus on learning tables:

1) Tablau yw'r blociau sylfaenol i lawer o bynciau mathemateg. Ffracsiynau, algebra, lluosrifau, ffactorau - i enwi ychydig. Mae pob dull lluosi a rhannu angen cyflymder ac adalw sydyn o'r tablau yn ysgol gynradd. Mae hyn yn bwysicach oll yn yr ysgol uwchradd. Trwy wybod y tablau, mae disgyblion yn teimlo'n fwy hyderus a thueddu hoffi mathemateg yn fwy. Mae'r tablau yn hafodol i Fathemateg CA2 ac angen cael eu plannu cyn gynted â phosib felly mae disgyblion yn gallu ymarfer eu defnyddio nhw ym Mlwyddyn 5 a 6.

1) Times tables are fundamental to many maths topics. Fractions, algebra, multiples, factors - to name a few. Every multiplication and division method requires speed and instant recall in primary school. In secondary school, the need is even greater. Through knowing the times tables, pupils feel more confident and tend to enjoy maths more. The times tables are essential to KS2 Maths and need to be imbedded as soon as possible so that pupils can practice using them in Years 5 and 6.

2) Rhyddhau cof gweithredol yn galluogi disgyblion i ddysgu mathemateg eraill a datblygu eu sgiliau rhesymu. Mae angen i blant allu cyflawni rhai ffeithiau a gweithrediadau mathemateg meddwl yn gyflym ac yn awtomatig er mwyn rhyddhau eu cof gweithredol ar gyfer dysgu newydd. Byddai'r gallu i adalw'r tablau'n sydyn yn rhoi hyder mewn mathemateg i ddisgyblion a'r capasiti i ddatblygu sgiliau newydd.

2) Freeing up working memory allows pupils to learn other maths and develop their reasoning skills. There are certain mental maths facts and operations that children need to be able to carry out quickly and automatically in order to free up their working memory for new learning. Being able to recall the times tables facts gives pupils confidence in maths and the capacity to develop new skills.

Times Tables Rock Stars - NEWYDD! NEW!

Yn ystod yr ychydig o wythnosau cyntaf yn nôl yn yr ysgol, bydd pob disgybl yn yr Ysgol Ganol yn canolbwyntio ar dysgu'r tablau.

Er mwyn annog a chefnogi ein disgyblion, bydd gan disgyblion yr ysgol Ganol fynegiad at yr ap a wefan Times Tables Rock Stars yn ystod Mis Medi AM DDIM. Bydd manylion yn cael ei ddanfon i chi gyd yn yr wythnos cyntaf yn nôl.

During the first few weeks back at school, all pupils in the Middle School will be concentrating on learning their Times Tables.

In order to encourage and support our pupils, all Middle School pupils will have access to the Times Tables Rock Stars app and website during September for FREE. Details will be sent to you all in the first week back.
