Of Mice and Men - Extract

• You will be given a page/section from the text and will be asked to analyse the language.

• This question will focus your response on the following options:

  • • CHARACTER 

    • RELATIONSHIPS 

    • MOOD and ATMOSPHERE

• 10 marks = 20 minutes

  • 5 minutes = Planning time (what are you going to say about the text - which quotes do you use?)

  • 15 minutes = writing time (this is what matters!)

• There should be a focus on language analysis here, meaning you need to zoom in, talk about connotations of language and provide alternative meanings to quotes.
