One possible route into learning could be through following a national award, such as the John Muir Award. There are four elements to the award:
discover a wild place
explore its wildness
conserve it
share your experiences
These spaces could be within the school grounds or in the local area around the school. The award website provides guidance on how to complete each section along with case studies and resources. The are three levels of the award that require an increasing level of commitment from 4 days for the Discovery Award, 8 days for the Explorer Award and 20 days for the Conserver Award. each element of the award has clear links to support all learners to realise the four purposes of Curriculum for Wales.
