Lesson 2
Planning the investigation
Pose the question: Which basket will travel down the rope the fastest?
Use the differentiated investigation sheets to plan the investigation in groups. Pupils to choose materials to use, discussing which materials would be the best 6 to use and giving reasons why they have chosen these. Predict which material at this stage was going to travel the fastest

Lesson 3
Gathering the equipment and setting up the investigation/ Programme the micro:bit
Pupils to gather the resources needed, ensuring that they take care keeping the variables the same and how they will set this up effectively.

RESOURCES: micro:bits, laptops or chrome books, 6 different materials, string, rope (washing line), agree on a weight suitable for the experiment
Lesson 4
Using the micro:bit to time how long it takes the baskets to travel down the rope
Investigate using the micro:bit and record results in a table

Complete coding following the Against the clock instructions, link to micro:bit.
Record information after each material in the table of results and record any relevant observations.
