Developments in these areas have always been drivers of change in society, underpinning innovation and impacting on everyone’s lives economically, culturally and environmentally.
The Earth and Beyond
We used Chromebooks to research facts about the planets in our solar system: diameter, moons, distance from the sun, temperature, length of day and length of year.
We compared the names of our planets in 4 different languages: Welsh, English, Spanish and French. We made good use of Google translate and discussed similarities and differences in the languages.
We drew a diagram of our solar system showing the order of the planets from the sun and their relative size.
We watched a video and looked at diagrams explaining Day and Night. We discussed the meaning of the target vocabulary and wrote an explanation in our own words.
Some of us read a text and used the target vocabulary to fill the gaps to complete an explanation of Day and Night.
