Evidence #3 Fiber Analysis

3 Unknown fibers were found stuck to Blaine Temmel's body at the scene of the crime.

Task:

- Obtain 2 threads of each of the three unknown fibers. You will need 2 threads for each test (meaning you will need 4 total threads of each fiber).

- Perform the following tests on them to gather evidence as to what type of fibers all three unknowns are.

  1. Burn test
  2. Solvent test

- When both tests are done, obtain a microscope slide for all 3 unknowns.

- Observe all three under the microscope and sketch them. Make sure to use color.

- Once you have performed both tests and observed the unknowns under a microscope, record the identity of all three unknown.

- Record the three different fibers in your evidence table and mark off any suspects that these fibers could link to.
