SPirit Week Next Week!

We will be filming our "Gym Rats" themed middle school spirit video on Monday. Students are encouraged to bring athletic clothing/gear for this. For those participating in the Iron Chef competition, please remember to cook something if you would like to join our potluck on Tuesday. Check out the other activities and themes for the week:

8th Grade Dinner Cruise

The HUMS 8th grade celebration will take place on the Spirit of Ethan Allen cruise boat on the evening of Thursday, June 6th.  Students should be dropped off at HUMS at 5pm.  The cruise will last from 6:15-9pm with dinner and dancing included.  Please meet your 8th grader for pick up back at HUMS  at 9:45.  The cost for each student is $50. We understand this may pose a financial challenge for some families. We would like every 8th grader to attend, so if cost is a concern, please contact Liz Hepp (lhepp@huusd.org / 802-583-8163) for scholarship options. Please make checks out to HUMHS.

THE 18th Annual Oratorical ContesT (DAYTIME EVENT)

Even though the top three finishers in our Speech Contest will present their speeches during the evening Celebration of Learning, all finalists will compete in our contest during the school day on Thursday---and you're invited! Join us as Team Aqua 7th graders share their speeches in a variety of topics, including "celebrity" judges. This event will be held in the Aqua Team Area.

The 8th graders have discovered the relationship between the squares of the sides of right triangles and the square of the hypotenuse. Here is the family resource.

The 7th graders have been measuring angles, learning about supplementary and complimentary angles, and will be investigating triangles, and the volume of prisms. Here is the family resource.

Later this month, students will complete a survey as part of a study Mrs. Knepper and Ms. McCarthy are participating in. Here is a letter with details.
