Immunizations

Vermont's immunization law requires that students meet school entry vaccination requirements prior to school admission. An official immunization record must be submitted to the school at the time of registration. Vaccinations not only protect your child, but serve as protection for the entire community.

The State of Vermont requires that all students meet immunization requirements or complete a medical or religious exemption form. If a parent or guardian chooses to exempt their child from immunizations based on religious convictions, the parent must fill out an exemption form annually.

The Vermont Department of Health has prepared evidenced based information for parents regarding immunizations that may be found here. Signing the exemption form acknowledges that parents or guardians have read the information and are aware of associated risk of incomplete vaccination both to their child and to children who are too young or medically fragile to have completed the vaccination requirements.
