It's best to keep everything in one location as much as possible. It's less confusing for students and parents. It also helps with the frame or flow of a lesson. This was an issue in the spring with too many attachments listed on the classwork page. It became overwhelming. Some teachers are making an additional section/topic below the Previous Lessons section, titled Teacher Use Only and adding assignments for independent practice there. They are copying the direct link to each of those assignments and linking them in their lesson or into the daily schedule if it's for asynchronous practice while small synchronous groups are pulled. Here is a video showing the additional Teacher Use Only section.
Classroom isn't meant to be used for full online learning. It's meant to be used as a hub for online resources and assignments in more of a blended learning setting, so we have to make adjustments to it to make it work more like an online learning platform.
There are some videos for some common tools, but teachers are asked to provide their own videos for applications so it also includes directions on what the student is expected to do. (Example Video) The video serves as instructional directions Just as if a teacher were giving directions in person.
If you're referring to the extension, that extension will be disabled in September by Google. If you’re referring to the app, not all students will be using a Chromebook and will not see the app or be automatically signed in to Google. Going through ClassLink is the easiest way to make sure everyone has access, and it also is a one-stop-shop for all leading platforms for parents with multiple children.
You can post a schedule that has multiple days in one document. Example
