Freckle is a great way for you to align your whole and small group instruction with student independent work time. Adaptive Practice allows students to work on their current level at their own pace. Assignments are perfect for collecting valuable data on your student's growth and require minimal creation on your part. Students can easily access Freckle through their ClassLink.
Once you log into Freckle you will automatically see your class rostered. You may want to edit or change a few things inside the student settings by clicking on Roster on the left hand side of your screen.
Inside your roster you can:
Edit Student Language- If you choose to change the student language to Spanish, directions in Spanish but content will still be in English.
Share with Another Teacher - You can select to share specific students with a co-teacher, if needed.
Now that your students have completed their Ren-Flow or Star Screeners it is time to link the two accounts to adjust your students' Freckle adaptive practice. You will only have to complete these steps ONE TIME this year. Integration has been turned on. Once your students follow the steps, their Renaissance Screener scores will automatically be integrated with Freckle!
Student Renaissance ID: student email
Password: birthdate (MMDDYYYY)
*Younger students may need teacher help with this step.
After creating an assignment select Assign for the future to schedule assignments.
Enable Assignments First Mode so students are prompted to complete any assignments BEFORE entering the adaptive practice. You can enable this feature by clicking on Assignments on the left hand side of your screen.
Let's take a closer look at your Activity Feed. On your Activity Feed you can see:
The last time students logged into Freckle
Completed activities by student (assignments, Fact Practices, etc.)
How many questions students have answered
What students have been working on
How well students have done on different activities and assignments.
Your Activity Feed may be a little overwhelming. You may want to narrow the view to look at specific dates, skills, or subject areas. You can narrow your feed by filtering at the top of the page.
Pick the time period
Use the time period filters to narrow it down your view. Do you want to see the student's progress over the last month, today, or just yesterday?
Filter by subject
Automatically your Dashboard will include ALL Math and ELA. You can use the Filter by Subject drop down menus to select specific areas to view within Math and ELA.
Dig deeper into student progress
Want to look at a specific student to see specifically how they did on an activity or assignment? Select the blue drop-down next to their name to see more information.
Want even more info?
Use the blue arrow to the far right of each student session to view the questions they received, along with what they answered.
