Software
The main essence of our code functions on a while loop and a timer that is counting down once the game is initialized, where once the timer ends, the code exits the loop.
Inside the loop, there is a concatenation of if-statements that are used to check if the game is being progressed regularly. For example, the questions are displayed on the screen if a car is scanned by the RFID scanner.
Additionally, many variables are used to keep track of key components of the game, such as the time left, points accumulated, and the ID of each car.
Hardware
The electrical components used in our project include:
RFID scanners
RFID tags/keyfobs
LED strips
LCD displays
Buttons
Additional Hardware Components
The board that the remote-controlled cars drove on was constructed using cardboard, along with the borders and the box holding the trivia components. Apart from that, the main buildings where the emergencies happen and where the cars start were 3D printed from SolidWorks drawings. The remote-controlled cars that had electronic attachments to them were bought at Target, which allowed for an increase in focus on the main electrical components
