Community MultiMedia Academy

The Community MultiMedia Academy (also known as CMMA) has established itself as learning community at Tennyson High School that integrates computer technology, multimedia, social justice issues, and community service.

CMMA students work closely with a team of teachers for three years, meeting college (A-G) entrance requirements and learning valuable multimedia skills.

We focus on real world topics, media arts and literacy for empowerment and positive community change.

CMMA is a career pathway dedicated to serving striving and struggling students.

We are located in South Hayward, CA.

How is CMMA different from the traditional academic program at Tennyson High School?

CMMA students learn through experience with an integrated curriculum and project-based learning.

We're explorers of creativity. We teach core classes based on the California High School standard, including classes in English, Science, Social Studies, and the Arts. We integrate technology practices with our lessons and we also have standalone Multimedia courses.

Our curriculum links California state standards to core subjects and socially relevant projects.

By the end of every year, all students prepare and present a digital portfolio before parents, peers, teachers and community members.
