Huntington ISD is committed to providing the best education possible for our Special Education and 504 Students during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) school shutdown.
ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) Committee and 504 Committee meetings will continue to occur during the school shutdown. Committee meetings may occur by phone or through video access (Zoom Meeting or Google Meet).
The HISD Special Education Department will contact you to schedule a meeting during the school shutdown if necessary.
If you have any questions about an ARD or 504 meeting, please contact Molly Stringer, Director of Special Programs, at (936) 876-4287 or by emailing her at mstringer@huntingtonisd.com.
HISD special education teachers will consult with students and parents via the telephone and through the use of technology each week that school is closed.
Special education teachers will contact their students via Seesaw, Google Classroom, email, other electronic methods and/or telephone. The frequency of contact is determined by the services which are currently provided to the student.
If you have questions about the continuation of Special Education or 504 Services (such as: instructional delivery, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, counseling, dyslexia, etc.) during the school shutdown, please contact Molly Stringer, Director of Special Programs, at (936)876-4287 or email her directly at mstringer@huntingtonisd.com.
