Write your spelling words 3 times each numbers 1-17. You will use a piece of lined notebook paper to complete this homework assignment.

Tuesday 8/25

Practice your spelling words for this week using your whiteboard and dry erase marker. Give your parents your spelling list, and ask them to read the words to you. Practice spelling the words on the whiteboard without looking. Practice learning your vocabulary words also.

Wednesday 8/26

***For this Spelling activity, place the handout inside the clear sheet I sent home and use a dry erase marker!***

Read, Cover, Make, Check, Write Activity: Get out your handout and complete the spelling activity by following the directions at the top of the page:

• Read: Read the spelling word (you will do this with all 20 of your spelling words (list, review, and challenge)
• Cover: Cover the word you are working on and try to spell it out loud without looking
• Make: Use playdough, alphabet letters, letter beads, or whatever you have at home and make the letters to the word you are spelling without looking at the word
• Check: Check your spelling list to make sure you correctly made the word using the write letters
• Write: Write your spelling word on the line
• Do this with all of your spelling words! Have Fun! Have mom or dad take a picture of you working on this activity and send it to me through email

Thursday 8/20

Today, you will take a Spelling Pre-test. Number your paper and have your parents read your words to you one at a time. Do your best to correctly spell each word, and write the words on your paper. Practice your vocabulary words too, on the back of the paper. Have mom or dad read the definition and you will write the word that matches the definition on the paper. Have mom or dad grade your paper when you are finished. Practice the words you have missed by writing them 3 times each on your whiteboard. Study for your Spelling Test tomorrow.

Friday 8/21

Today you will take your Spelling Test. Number your paper and have your mom or dad read each of your words to you while you try your best to spell the words correctly on your paper. Flip your paper over and have your mom or dad read the definitions to each vocabulary word to you. Match each vocabulary word with the correct definition. When you are finished, have mom or dad grade your test. You will turn your test in with your other work today. Good luck!
