The school-wide elections for G.O. executive board positions take place in the spring (typically March). Campaigning occurs throughout the weeks leading up to the election, typically involving posters, videos, stump speeches, and online campaigning. Any student in grades 9-11 can run for a position. Details will be made public on the G.O.'s linktree before candidacy must be declared.
Eight students are selected each year to be assistants to the G.O. executive board members. They gain firsthand experience by learning the inner workings of Hunter's student government and participating in the organization of our annual events and activities. Being an assistant is often the first step to running to be on the G.O. board. The assistant application process occurs at the end the school year (usually in May) and includes a written application and an interview. Any 8th or 9th grade student can apply. Please see the Constitution for further information on eligibility and Assistant duties!
