Bemutatkozás

Engedjék meg, hogy néhány mondatban bemutatkozzam!

Németh Gergely vagyok a HAAW Magyar Iskola felnőtteknek szervezett magyar nyelvi képzés magyartanára. 2020 júniusában tartottam meg az első, akkor még egyetlen órámat a Szövetségnek, és nagyon örültem neki. Az évek során folyamatosan emelkedett az igény a magyartanulásra, így jelenleg öt online órát tartok hetente. Kezdő kurzusok pedig minden év szeptemberében indulnak.

2004-ben szereztem magyar nyelv és irodalom szakos bölcsész diplomát a Miskolci Egyetemen, és 2009 óta tanítok magyar nyelvet külföldieknek. Az órák során nemcsak a magyar nyelv logikus felépítéséről, rejtelmeiről beszélünk, hanem kultúráról, országismeretről, aktuális kérdésekről is. Igyekszem sokat gyakoroltatni a beszédet az órákon, írásbeli házi feladatokat adok, és a listening et gyakoroljuk a tanult anyaghoz tartózó audio feladatokkal, amiket emailben küldök. Ez szintén otthoni gyakorlás, így lehetőség van egy-egy szöveget újra és újra meghallgatni.

Miskolcon, Magyarországon élek, így folyamatosan nyomon követhetem nyelvünk változásait, amelyekről beszámolok az órákon. Folyamatosan veszek részt továbbképzéseken, hogy szakmai kompetenciámat is naprakészen tartsam. 

A Seattle-i Magyar-Amerikai Közösség különösen közel áll a szívemhez, hiszen online műsorokat is készítettünk a diákjaimmal a pandémia alatt, amikor nem volt lehetőség a személyes találkozásra például március 15-én, október 23-án vagy karácsonykor.

Őszintén bízom benne, hogy a jövőben is egyre többen szeretnének majd magyarul tanulni, és Magyarországra látogatni, ahol mindig nagy örömmel találkozom a diákjaimmal, és a közös fotót az irodám falán helyezem el, ami háttere az óráknak. Ezt hősök falának hívjuk, hiszen aki magyarul tanul, az igazi hős. :) Remélem az a fal hamarosan nem lesz elég a sok fotónak!

Most is szeretnék néhány képet csatolni, amelyek Magyarországon készültek a Seattle-i diákjaimmal.

Allow me to introduce myself in a few sentences.

I am Gergely Németh, Hungarian teacher at the HAAW Hungarian School for adults. I taught my first, then only, class for the Association in June 2020, and I was very happy with it. Over the years, the demand for learning Hungarian has continuously increased, so I currently teach five online classes per week. Beginner courses start in September of each year.

I graduated a Master of Arts school in Hungarian Language and Literature from the University of Miskolc in 2004, and I have been teaching Hungarian to foreigners since 2009. During the classes, we not only talk about the logical structure and mysteries of the Hungarian language, but also about culture, knowledge of the country, and current issues. I try to practice speaking a lot in the classes, I give written homework, and we practice listening with audio tasks related to the learned material, which I send by email. This is also a home practice, so you can listen to an audio over and over again.

I live in Miskolc, Hungary, so I can constantly monitor the changes in our language, which I report on in the lessons. I constantly participate in further training to keep my professional competence up to date.

The Hungarian-American Community of Seattle is especially close to my heart, as we also produced online programs with my students during the pandemic, when there was no opportunity to meet in person, for example on March 15, October 23, or at Christmas.

I sincerely hope that in the future more and more people will want to learn Hungarian and visit Hungary, where I always have great pleasure in meeting my students, and I put the joint photo on the wall of my office, which is the background of the lessons. We call it the wall of heroes, because anyone who learns Hungarian is a real hero. :) I hope that wall will soon not be enough for so many photos!
