Bóbita Hungarian Playgroup
Twice monthly on Saturdays 10-11 am
Bóbita Hungarian Playgroup is a Hungarian program for children under 3 and their caregivers.
The sessions follow a carefully crafted sequence of Hungarian nursery rhymes, children’s songs and games with active parent participation.
The Bóbita Playgroup serves as an excellent interface for non-Hungarian-speaking family members in interethnic families to connect with the larger Hungarian community.
Twice monthly on Saturdays 11am - 12pm
School-age kids are divided into three groups for their one-hour Hungarian class.
First graders ages 6-7 start learning the Hungarian alphabet and become familiar with conventions of spelling and reading. Through stories and playful activities, we learn to read and write together!
Our second group is for 8-10-year-olds who can read Hungarian words. Our focus at this level is on vocabulary development and immersion into the marvels of Hungarian grammar and literature. We also deepen our understanding of Hungarian customs and traditions.
For students ages 11 and up, our curriculum, which includes Hungarian history, geography and ethnography, ensures that their developing curiosity about Hungarian culture and language is satisfied.
