We are in the final days of the Leigh Academy Trust Primary tournament with some good score averages coming in, Final results will be in at the end of the day on the 8th December - I wonder where we will place?
Reception have been working on the composition of 4 and 5 by exploring different combinations using 5 frames and counters. They have also worked on 1 more and 1 less than a given number within 5, increasing their rapid recall of these facts.
Year 1 have explored, named and sorted 2D and 3D shapes. They have also been consolidating their addition and subtraction calculations and embedding number facts.
Year 2 have also worked 2D and 3D shapes. They have explored the shape properties and used mathematical language to describe them. The children have also explored lines of symmetry in 2D shapes.
Year 3 have focused on consolidating their addition and subtraction of 2- and 3-digit numbers, using the inverse operations to check their work. They have also worked on exploring multiples of 2, 5 and 10.
Year 4 have also been working on multiplication of 7, 11 and 12 and exploring multiplying and dividing by 1, 0 and itself. They will be moving onto Roman numerals this week.
Year 5 have continued their work on fractions, the children have worked on addition and subtraction of mixed numbers. They will be moving onto multiplication of 2 and 3 digit numbers.
Year 6 have continued their work on fractions before moving onto finding out about measures. They are working on converting and calculating with metric measures, then exploring imperial measures.
