Pupils have returned to school with a new focus on presentation, ensuring that they present their maths work clearly, well organised and neatly. There has already been an improvement in presentation which we hope the children will sustain.
Da Vinci
Reception have been exploring consolidated their knowledge of bonds to 5 using a range of models including a whole-part model. They have used a range of resources to represent their work and can recall many pairs of numbers which total 5 by heart.
Berners-Lee
Year 1 have consolidated their work on place value from Module 1, extending to number to 20 by reading, writing, comparing and ordering numbers. They have also explored 1 more and 1 less. They are moving onto addition and subtraction within 20 for the remainder of this term.
Cousteau Class
Year 2 have explored the topic of money from recognising coins and notes, calculating totals and comparing amounts. For the remainder of the module they will be looking at multiplication and division.
Anderson Class
Year 3 have continued their work on multiplication and division, the linked between them and developing their reasoning about multiplication. They are working on their 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication with and without exchanging.
Adams Class
Year 4 have explored multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100 and their related facts. They have moved onto using informal written methods of multiplication.
Thunberg Class
Year 5 have continued and consolidated their knowledge about multiplication and division using formal written methods. They are developing their reasoning skills within this topic.
Attenborough Class
Year 6 have explored the concept of ratio, using the appropriate language and symbols to represent this. They have applied this through scale drawings and scale factors. They have begun their work on algebra, exploring the use of function machines.
NSPCC Numbers Day
On Friday 3rd February we will be participating in the NSPCC numbers day to raise money. More details to follow shortly!
