Literacy classes use a proficiency-based grading system.
For every standard, students' progress is documented based on the rubric below.
Students are given multiple opportunities to grow and show their growth throughout the year. As they deepen their mastery, their numbers change to reflect their progress.
Teachers use TeacherEase to keep detailed records of students' progress, transferring information to Infinite Campus on a weekly basis. Look below for the proficiency scale letter grade conversion chart.
Codes in the gradebook:
- T = Turned in
- M = Missing
- X = Exempt
- I = Incomplete
Late Assignments:
- Any assignment not turned in when it is asked for is late. Although there are no late penalties assessed for individual assignments, lates are recorded in the gradebook. The number of lates determines students' progress on the Employability Skills standard for turning in work on time.
