40% of your time in AVID will be spent in tutorial groups OR doing tutorial-related work (pre-work, reflecting, debriefing, etc.)
Tutorials will be done twice a week.
A new Tutorial Request form (also known as a TRF) is due each week, even if your teachers have not taught you anything new.
Groups are made up of 5-7 people and may change based on the goal of the session.
Tutorials will be taken up for multiple grades (including summative/test grades) so participate and do your best!
As a new AVID student, you will hear the term "TRF" a lot. That is because this is a form you will fill out prior to every tutorial session and will be used to guide the presenter through their critical thinking process. TRFs can look a little scary, however with a little practice, you will get this process down pretty quickly.
Check out the video below where it is explained how to use the TRF document and an "example" of how to fill one out!
