Don't worry, AVID isn't all work and no play! We do a lot of fun teambuilding activities, games, and more. We are a family after all, and families need to work together, laugh together, solve problems together, and grow together.

Each year, AVID students get the opportunity to go on field trips to different college campuses around Texas. You will learn more about on-campus housing, recreational groups, degree programs, and the school's history. Oh, and don't forget lunch!

In the fall semester, students participate in a seasonal project of their choice where they partner with an organization in the Greater Houston Area to give back to the community. Popular partnerships include the Houston Food Bank, Street Clean Ups, Meals on Wheels, Houston Marathon, and many smaller organizations such as schools, libraries, medical/vet offices, and childcare centers. During the service, the students create a presentation highlighting their plan of action, volunteer day, results, and future plans.
