Have you obtained your relevant visa: D-2-X (Student Visa)?
The FRC is more important than the visa in your passport.
Your FRC allows you to:
Stay in Korea for more than 90 days
Secure your visa status in Korea
Have multiple entries to Korea
You will need to leave Korea within 2 weeks after your study period ends.
This is either late June/early July or late December/early January.
You will need to leave Korea within 2 weeks upon completion of the Intensive Korean Program if you have enrolled.
This is late February/early March, or late August/early September.
You will need your FRC for just about everything in Korea such as getting mobile phone service, opening bank accounts, etc. so it is extremely important to apply for this card as soon as possible. If you lose it, you must apply for a new one at the Immigration Office as soon as possible as well. Even you move housing, for example, from the dormitory to an apartment (or vice versa), you must also submit your address change to the Immigration within two weeks of moving.
Your D-2 visa status expires when your program at HUFS officially finishes.
The expiration date of your card is valid only if you are enrolled at an official program at HUFS.
After your program finishes, HUFS will automatically cancel your visa and you have to leave Korea within two weeks.
The expiration date of your FRC is NOT the last day you can leave Korea!!
