The JoGo Project is a WAMMIE Award-winning jazz and gogo band from Washington, DC. It was created in 2014 by Saxophonist and DC jazz musician Elijah Jamal Balbed (aka EJB).
Go-go music originated with Black musicians in Washington, D.C., from the mid-1960s to late-1970s to oppose the gentrification of our capital city. (Musicians using their gifts to fight injustice.)
