Document and data storage/sharing
Canvas – Henderson's supported Learning Management System. This is not recommended as the first option for those not already in the system, but it is great for anyone that has used it here before. It can also be helpful for those that need to take advantage of the extra features an LMS offers.
Canvas - email/messaging, submissions through several Canvas utilities.
To request access to Canvas, open a support ticket or email Helpdesk@hsu.edu
Canvas Teacher APP - Download and use the Canvas Teacher APP for iPhone or Android.
Outside of Canvas
Email – Send and receive documents to students.
Dropbox – Using a cloud storage location to share information with students or to create an area where students can submit work is an option. Just be aware that faculty and students use different email systems (faculty use google and students use Microsoft), and that limits some of the capabilities of both Google Drive or One Drive
Lecture capture
TechSmithRelay – Henderson's official screen capturing and video recording system for all faculty, staff, and students with a Henderson email address. Make recordings that can easily be shared through Canvas while also giving you access to track views, include questions during the video, and even do some minor editing. It can also be used outside of Canvas, but all users must use a Relay account to create or view content.
YouTube – You are welcome to record using whatever recording program you want and upload the recording to your own YouTube channel (using your Henderson email address)
Virtual meeting spaces
Zoom – This creates a video conferencing session that can invite people with or without a zoom account. It is the free version that allows up to a 40-minute session. You are welcome to create your own account and use this as needed.
Hangouts Meet – This works almost just like Zoom, but there is no time limit. It is already available within your Google Calendar without any extra account creations or setup. Students do NOT need to have a Google account.
BigblueButton – Built into Canvas, and it is designed to be a virtual classroom.
