Core programmes
The SAO has direct connections with renowned companies in a wide array of countries via its own network, and with the help of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office. Each year, our office nominates students to take part in overseas internships around the globe and in Mainland China as part of the programmes detailed below.
OUTBOUND INTERNSHIP ARRANGEMENT DUE TO COVID-19
If students are eager to take up any outbound activities, you are advised to consider the risk involved, uncertainties ahead and potential cost incurred which you need to fully bear (including but not limited to accommodation for quarantine, insurance, test report, vaccine injection, cancellation or postponement of the internship, etc.). You are also suggested to put your own safety first, and consult your family to make a well-considered decision. Please approach SAO if you have any queries on the outbound activities.
Eligibility
all non-final year full-time UG student of HSUHK (no min. CGPA requirement) (final year students might be considered for specific internship positions)
possess good language and communication skills
able to apply for the appropriate visa to the internship country
Internship period
Most global internships are available during Jun – Aug of each year with duration ranging from 4 – 12 weeks.
The exact internship period is subject to the internship host’s needs and the student’s availability.
Stipend/ Allowance from internship host
The stipend/allowance varies for different internship hosts while most internship are unpaid.
Remarks
Students have to shoulder their own direct expenses e.g. visa application, inter-city transportation, accommodation, meals, etc.
Students should arrange for their own inter-city transportation, visa and accommodation.
