Minor and Major Referrals

Minors and Majors are written documentation of a behavior choice made by a student. In each situation an adult will reteach and discuss the behavior choice with the student(s) involved. Parents may or may not be notified in a Minor situation as the behavior may simply be addressed by the classroom teacher. Parents will be notified in a Major situation. The response to a Minor or Major behavior will depend on the student's pattern of behavior, interventions already tried, severity of the behavior, and feedback from all people involved. Behavior documentation is tracked and is used daily to determine student intervention. We also use the data to guide decisions on focus behaviors, need for reteaching or clarification of expectations, and schedule or process changes that will help support a specific behavior.

Below you will find a reference tool we use in determining if a behavior is a Minor or Major offense.
