Week 3 Performing Arts

Week 3 Lesson:

Change of Pace!

• Choose a physical activity that you love doing. Eg: playing soccer, riding a bike, dancing, cooking, construction - anything that requires you to move and makes you happy.

• Pretend to be doing this activity (eg: stirring at the stove, hammering in a nail, pedaling on the bike)

• Repeat doing this activity but try doing it in fast forward or super speed.

• Try doing it in super slow motion. How slow can you do it? Challenge yourself.

• Ask an adult to film your changing speeds, fast, slow, back to normal etc.

• Upload your video to Class DoJo portfolio for me to watch.

If you have some spare time click on the Prep activity grid - things to do at home and complete one of the activities listed.

The Orchestra

Do you like music? There are lots of different sorts of music and plenty of instruments to play it on.

Click on the link to listen and watch an orchestra of young people perform well-known pieces of music.

Discuss with your family:

1. Have you ever heard an orchestra play?

2. Can you name some of the instruments you hear in this clip?

3. How many different instruments can you count in this orchestra? (You don’t have to know the names of them all!)

4. How many different ways of making sounds can you see in the video? For example, the drummer makes a sound by hitting the drum with a drum stick. How else do people produce sounds?
