You want to run track? There are 8 steps:

Step 1:  Intake form online for track & XC

This online form tell us you're interested in the team and gives us important background information.

Step 2:  Medical form signed by your doctor

Any doctor or nurse practioner can complete this form. You can also go to CityMD or similar urgent care center. There are free city health clinics that will do it also; contact Coach Henning.

Please fill in all blanks and sign in all 13 spaces indicated. No blanks are allowed.

Step 4:  Email both forms to Coach Henning

Email a clear photo or pdf copy of each paper form to Coach Henning before the first practice you attend.

Step 5:  Read the team website

All team info is posted here--for new recruits, parents, and current athletes. There are helpful guides, rules, photos, and more.

Step 6:  Review the team calendar

This shared Google calendar has all team events, including precise locations and times. It can easily be added to your phone's calendar.

Step 7:  Attend one of the Friday tryouts in October 

The tryout consists of a vertical jump, horizontal jump, a bounding test, and a 60 meter sprint. Your performance is compared to standards based on historical averages for HSMSE freshmen. You must exceed three of the four standards to be considered for the team.

Step 8:  Wait for the call from Coach Henning

Coach Henning will call all candidates at home after their tryout with his decision. If you make the team, you continue with the next practice. If you do not, you're encouraged to tryout for indoor (winter) track, outdoor (spring) track, and next fall's cross country team.
