School of Rock is a semester-long elective course offered to both 7th and 8th grade students.  Throughout this semester we will be learning about the creation of the Rock and Roll genre, how it has evolved over the decades, artists that are considered influential in the genre, and the many subgenres that have come from Rock. In addition to this, students will form mini-Rock Bands and will learn basic patterns on the electric guitar, electric bass, drums, and piano; as well as create band names, album covers, and various marketing strategies for their band.
