Local Chapters are the heart of KYHSD. KYHSD has two types of chapters, School Chapters and Community Chapters. The members of these chapters are those that are really able to make an impact. Whether meeting with elected officials, going to rallies, planning, or participating in community service--our members are building our organization to success.
Kentucky has an Executive Board of leaders who help guide and support local chapters and act as a liaison between members in their state and the HSDA national level. KYHSD organizes statewide conferences, connects members to state candidates, and plans major phone banks and get-out-the-vote campaigns. KYHSD coordinates with the Democratic Party and Young Democrats.
High School Democrats of America (HSDA) works to create national initiatives. HSDA organizes with three basic principles: informing, participating, and organizing the future leaders of the Democratic Party. Every year, the National Board finishes with a Nationwide summit in Washington, D.C., including prominent figures of the Democratic Party.
