DO NOT use the Counseling Appointment Request to report emergencies that require immediate assistance when school is not in session (after school, weekends, holidays, etc).

Schedule Changes

The offering and staffing of elective courses are dependent upon student requests made during spring forecasting.  A significant amount of time and effort is devoted to giving students their top elective choices when creating the master schedule.  However, due to limited seat availability in some classes, it is possible that students will receive electives identified as their back-up choices.
Students are advised to plan ahead and consider their elective choices carefully during the forecasting process as changes are not always possible when the school year starts. Elective changes may be considered September 22-30th if space permits it.
See your counselor about your schedule for the following reasons:
  • Missing classes. A full-time schedule includes classes in periods 0-7
  • Concern about a possible incorrect math level placement
  • Scheduling concern related to documented health conditions/reasons
  • Other unique or exceptional circumstance

Counselors are not permitted to change student schedules for the following reasons:
  • Change academic team
  • Change advisory or classroom teacher
  • Change the order of class periods
  • Change the semester elective order
  • Change lunch
  • To be with friends
Information shared by students with counselors is confidential and not revealed without permission.
Exceptions:
  • Counselors must report information about serious threats of harm to self or others
  • Counselors must report information about abuse
