Attendance, District & State Testing, Student Services, and Quarterly Family Check-Ins
Attendance
In Oregon, attendance is defined as a daily, meaningful, two-way interaction between the teacher and the homeschooling family. For the 2026-2027 school year, families will be expected to engage in daily communication with their HP teacher through a morning check-in, ensuring consistent and meaningful connection throughout the school year.
District and State Testing
HP students are exempt from the required testing for homeschoolers, as they are officially registered with HSD. However, we require all HP students to participate in district and state testing opportunities, including the district's reading and math assessments (2-3 times per year) and the Spring state testing, to help monitor progress and ensure continued success.
Student Services
If your student needs additional support or already has existing accommodations such as an Individualized Education Plan, Behavior Support Plan, or 504 Accommodations, we are here to help! Homeschool Partnership students and families have full access to school and district resources, including Special Education services, speech therapy, and counseling, ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed.
Quarterly Family Check-Ins
Families will meet with the Homeschool Partnership teacher four times per year, once at the beginning of the year and then three additional times throughout the year. These meetings, which can be held virtually or in person, provide an opportunity to check in, ask questions, review assessment data and attendance, and discuss overall progress. They serve as a valuable touchpoint to ensure families feel supported and students are thriving in their learning journey.
