SOUTHWOOD SCHOOL “SCHOOLWIDE CHALLENGES”

SOUTHWOOD LEGO CHALLENGE!

This challenge is open to all Southwood School students to create an original LEGO creation.

The rules are:

• • Must be made at home

  • Must be an original creation (no kits)

  • Must include a short paragraph explaining their creation and what inspired it

  • Each grade level will be its own category (ie kindergarten category, grade one category, etc).

  • Prizes will be awarded for each category

  • Creations will be judged on building skills, creativity and originality

Photos and write ups can be emailed to southwood@hsd.ca before April 13, 2020.

SOUTHWOOD MAKERSPACE CHALLENGE - CARDBOARD GAME!

• Students are invited to create a game or arcade game out of cardboard. The rules are:

  • Must be made at home

  • Must be an original design

  • Must include a short paragraph of the design process and what inspired the game

  • Each grade level will be its own category

  • Prizes will be awarded for each age level

  • Creations will be judged on building skills, creativity and originality

  • Photos and write ups can be emailed to southwood@hsd.ca before April 13, 2020.
