How to: Kami

What is KAMI? Kami is an online document annotation and markup tool. You can highlight, underline, and strikethrough text in PDF and other document formats. You can also add text boxes, shapes, and images. Kami works with Google Drive and Google Classroom.

Step 1: Learn the Basics of Kami

To get familiar with Kami, check out this tutorial video that explains how to use most of its basic features. Please watch the video on your right.

Step 2: Practice

  • Please be sure you are using your school-issued Chromebook when practicing. If you are not, you are going to have to install the Kami app on the device you are using (it is free). Please note, this works best on a Chromebook and tends to be moody on other devices.

  • Go to Google Classroom and open the assignment called "9/15/2020 Kami Practice." If for some reason it doesn't automatically take you to Kami, click the "Open with" button at the top and then click "Annotate with Kami".

  • You can also use this link: Period 2 and Period 3

  • Follow the directions and then turn in the assignment to show that you have practiced using Kami and understand how it works. Email us with any issues.
