My name is Maxwell O'Handley (Mr. O), and I am thrilled to join the team at Violet Avenue! Raised on Long Island, I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Marist University. I love the Hudson Valley and am excited to call it home again.

On weekends, you can find me exploring local nature trails, visiting coffee shops, or spending time with my two dogs and newly adopted kitten. A fun fact about me: I LOVE The Beatles and play multiple instruments!

Teaching is more than a career for me—it is a way of life. Inspired by wonderful educators throughout my journey, I look forward to learning and growing alongside your students this year. 

My name is Stephanie McDonald (Mrs. McDonald), and this is my second year at Violet Avenue, but my third year as a Teaching Assistant in the Grade 2/3 12:1:1 program. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Childhood and Special Education from SUNY New Paltz. 

I live in Hyde Park with my family. I have an 11-year old son, Finn and a 9-year old daughter Rowan. We also have 2 cats and 2 dogs! They keep me very busy! In my spare time, I love to read and spend time in nature with my family!
