Global Scholars may choose to complete service learning projects that are rooted in global competence.
While these experiences may have a global impact, it can also embody the spirit of “Think globally, act locally.”
Pre-approved participation in existing clubs at Howell High School may count as meeting the service learning criteria.
Minimum Hours of Service: 50 hours total, not annually.
(Class of ‘25 needs 15 hours. Class of ‘26 needs 30 hours total)
Students will engage in globally-focused service learning activities, programs, or projects that have been approved by the school district and monitored by designated staff.
Co-curricular and the extra-curricular programs are integral parts of Global Education and provide a rich variety of activities for students to participate in. Current Global Educational Excellence and extra-curricular activities are held weekly while others are offered periodically or as community resources and opportunities present themselves to enrich the students’ experience.
