I'm so happy that you're here!

Welcome to the technology page for third grade at Memorial.  This is a huge growing year in all areas, but especially in technology! This year, our iPads have trackpads with a cursor and are a lot easier to navigate. Our students have more responsibility as many of them are bringing their iPads to and from school every day. 

We focus on responsibility in third grade. Make sure to always plug your iPad in when you get home from school, and remember to bring it to school every day. We use our iPads for school related things only, so make sure you are using this device as a learning tool! 

In technology class, we will learn how to customize our iPads so they work best for us. We will be growing a lot with our typing skills, as we practice every class to become faster and more accurate with our typing. We will be learning to navigate Schoology and also to use the Google suite. As the year goes on, we also will learn about digital citizenship, coding, and robotics.

Third grade is very busy, as we are learning so much, but it's also so much fun! We are going to have another great year together in technology at Memorial School!

Make sure to practice as much as you can with Typing Pal so you are able to improve and increase your WPM!  

WPM= words per minute, or how fast you are typing. 

You can practice as much as you want at home or when you have free time in class. Any practice is good practice! Use Typesy, Typing Pal, Typing Club, Typing.com, Alpha Quick, or any other typing sites/apps that you find fun and helpful. 

Once you complete ALL the lessons on Typesy, you are allowed to play typing games during class. :)
