Popular shortcuts

• Take a screenshot: Press Ctrl + (or Ctrl + F5)
• Take a partial screenshot: Press Shift + Ctrl + (or Shift + Ctrl + F5), then click and drag
• Take a screenshot (on tablets): Press Power button + Volume down button
• Turn Caps Lock on or off: Press Search + Alt
• Lock your screen: Press Search + L
• Sign out of your Google Account: Press Shift + Ctrl + q (twice)
• See all keyboard shortcuts: Press Ctrl + Alt + /

Copy and paste text

Step 1: Highlight the text you want to copy.

Step 2: Press the Ctrl and the C keys at the same time. This will automatically copy the text.

Step 3: Put the cursor where you want to paste the text.

Step 4: Then press the Ctrl and V keys at the same time.

Copy and paste a picture or video

Step 1: Hover over the picture or video that you want to copy, and then right click on it. For the touchpad, the right click should be set to a two-finger tap.

Step 2: For an image, you should see options to copy image, or copy image address. Choose which is right for you.

Step 3: For a video, you should see options to copy video URL and maybe copy embed code as well. Choose which is right for you.

Step 4: Put the cursor where you want to paste the image or video.

Step 5: Press Ctrl and V keys at the same time.

Adding accent marks

Step 1: Get international keyboard

1. Click account photo in lower right corner

2. Click Settings

3. Scroll down and click Advanced

4. Scroll down to Languages and input

5. Click on Input method

6. If you don't see US International keyboard, click on Manage input methods and put a check by US International keyboard then go back to Manage input methods

7. Make sure you see Enabled under US International keyboard. If not click on US international keyboard and Enabled should appear

8. Close settings and you will see INTL next to your account photo in the lower right corner

Step 2: Adding accent marks

The U.S. International keyboard has the following accent marks:

Acute (é) ' + letter

Grave (à) ` + letter

Tilde (ñ) Right Alt + letter

Circumflex (ô) Shift + ^ + letter

Umlaut/diaeresis (ü) Shift + " + letter

Cedilla (ç) ' + c
