We hope to see you at CAMT in Fort Worth, June 23-25!!
The kind of representation our area math leaders deserve!
🔹🔹🔹
The objective of this organization is to establish a robust collaborative network that offers regular meetings and valuable professional learning opportunities for all elementary and secondary math leaders in the Houston-area. Through an established network, we can effectively use our voice as a community of math leaders in state and regional-level decisions.
By having frequent, predictable meeting times, organizations such as TEA and Region 4 can easily involve the group's input, influence and expertise in instructional decisions. We aspire to cultivate strong relationships among math curriculum leaders across the city and surrounding areas, ensuring a collaborative and enriching environment for all involved.
🔹🔹🔹
We can't wait to connect, collaborate & create!

Pendulum: The Foucault pendulum, prominently featured in Houston, was chosen for its predictable motion, symbolizing the steady rhythm of our future meetings. As an icon, the pendulum represents leadership and change, underscoring the pivotal role of those who take charge and consistently show up.
The Houston Mathematics Leadership Network was co-founded by Dr. Cheryl Kerr, Dr. Haley Galyean, and Nicole Shanahan, with the help of Amanda Rodriguez and Stormy Thibodeaux, to reestablish a collaborative network for mathematics leaders across the Greater Houston area. HMLN was created in response to the absence of long-standing regional leadership groups and professional gatherings—such as HAMS and former meetings hosted through HCDE—that had once provided valuable opportunities for connection, collaboration, and shared problem-solving among mathematics coordinators, specialists, and instructional leaders.
Through intentional networking, professional learning, and leadership development, HMLN seeks to unite mathematics leaders across districts to strengthen mathematics instruction, promote coherence and innovation, and create a supportive community dedicated to improving outcomes for all students.
